Online Sexual Violence- Brave Movement
In commemoration of the International Day of prevention, healing and justice to end childhood sexual violence, together with Brave Movement Uganda member organisations we carried out a discussion with University students and their student leaders on the extent of sexual harassment in Universities.
Throughout the discussions, university students expressed their views on the existence of persistent sexual harassment that has led to failure of many students to graduate from universities and thus pursue their career aspirations.
These sexual harassment cases remain un reported due to fear, shame, embarrassment and inappropriate reporting and safeguarding structures.
They requested that universities put up implementable policies that safe guard students from sexual harassment as well as keeping the complainants’ identity confidential in case of reporting.
