Amity for Humanity Initiative- Uganda

Amity for Humanity Initiative - Uganda is a non-governmental organization that has existed since 2020 with the purpose of providing collective actions that transform communities and generations to come against gender-based violence.

We advocate for the protection and enforcement of children’s and women’s rights in areas of high unmet needs including the right to education, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, Child protection and gender equality.

Our Aim:

To grow a generation that will pass the principles of equity, equality and justice to the same principles to the next generation thus breaking the cycle of violence.

Our Goal:

To nurture a generation of transformed leaders against violence in promotion of the principles of equity, equality and justice.

To influence the implementation of laws and policies safeguarding children and raise awareness on all forms of violence against women and girls.

To collaborate and promote girls’ education, build agency and support out of school girls to contribute to the development of their communities.

To advocate for gender equality and provide psychosocial support to victims of gender Based Violence in Uganda

To advocate and promote menstrual health and hygiene management for women and girls.

To create community awareness about the sexual Reproductive health and rights of women and promoting healthy and sustainable communities.

AREAS OF OPERATION

Our organization operates in 10 districts namely Wakiso, Kampala (Slums), Mbarara, Arua, Gulu, Lira,Kaseese, Kamuli, Isingiro- Nakivale Refugee Settlement and kagadi-kyangwali Refugee Settlement camp. We also partner with other organizations located in different regions of Uganda to reach to a wider population with the sole aim of ending violence in schools and communities.
