Community led Approach to End Child Marriage in Uganda 2021-2022

Amity for Humanity Initiative Uganda is implementing  A community led approach to ending child marriage in Uganda in Wakiso and Kamuli Districts.

We work with local leadership structures at district and subcounty levels to operationalise the implementation of the National Strategy to End Child Marriage and Teenage pregnancies in the respective districts.

We also work with community champions such as religious leaders, political leaders, cultural leaders and persons of influence who use their platforms and power to advocate towards ending child marriage and teenage pregnancies.

Through this project, we have established 40 community and school clubs for both in and out of school girls. These are safe spaces for girls to share and learn each other, receive training on different life skills and competencies and are centers for reporting child marriage cases in communities as well as all cases of violence against women and girls.
